Humility & Prayer, Our Only Remedy

Thank you to my cousin, Laney, for sharing this on Facebook yesterday.  How true it is.  One only has to watch the news for 5 minutes to see the dark, unsettling events occurring just in our nation alone.  We have forgotten by whose hand we became this great country, turning away from the Lord whose sovereign hand brought us through so many tribulations. She made a very important point:

"The last sentence is key...we can post and complain all we want about the current state we are in...but humble repentance and prayer is the only remedy!"

My response, Amen.  The Lord has called us to put our trust in Him alone, to... 

"... not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." 

Romans 12:21  

Our humility honors the Lord.  

"The humble will see their God at work and be glad. Let all who seek God’s help be encouraged." 

Psalm 69:32

We have nothing to worry about.  The world professes 'doom and gloom' but our trust in the Lord brings deliverance.  

"For the LORD delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory." Psalm 149:4

The promises of the Lord are never ending.  His covenants are forever!

The LORD says, "I will rescue those who love me.  I will protect those who trust in my name. Psalm 91:3-4

Put your trust in the Lord, doing good.  That is when you will see the hand of the Lord moving in mighty ways.

Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Psalm 37:3

Pray without ceasing.  Cover our nation and our leaders in prayer and watch the Lord move.
