Who We Are...
>INTRODUCTORY VIDEO<
"Virtual Nerd offers online tutoring in math and science to students grades 7-12. Our service is both affordable and convenient, providing help whenever and as much as needed. Using our patent pending Dynamic Whiteboard, each student has a very interactive and personalized learning experience. While watching our pre-recorded videos, they can drill-down for more information and access FAQs, terms and definition to assist in their learning process. Service is available on a subscription plan basis, a 1-month subscription is $49 - multi-month plans are also available."
The instructors/tutors approach the subjects with real world examples keeping the lessons interesting, short and to the point. These videos are here whenever my son needs them. The tutors utilize their "Dynamic Whiteboard' to clearly display examples of every kind from "What's an equality?" to "How do you solve a word problem using an inequality with variables on both sides?" and "What is an exponential function?" for Algebra. This is good help for my struggling mathematician who wants to fight the progression of difficulty in math. The tutors have helped us both better understand the definitions and facts and how to really SEE the problems.
Physics: For review purposes we utilized these tutors more because of my son's greater interest in this area. The Physics motivating instructions on vectors, forces, equilibrium and more are all opened up to your student with ease. I even enjoyed learning more about the reality of physics and how it applies to my real life. The ability to just go to any instruction and not have to go in succession made the learning even more desirable. Physics is really very interesting!
"We continue efforts to expand our course content and add features that improve the overall user experience. In 2010, Parent Tested Parent Approved issued an award to Virtual Nerd based on our product quality, functionality, value and appeal. And we just introduced textbook search capabilities - which we will continue to expand."
You can sign-up for a 2-hour free trial to 'test the waters' and see if this instruction is a right fit for you and your student. You can also try Virtual Nerd for one day, one time only trial for $5.00 or for a week, one time only for $19.00. They also have subscription plans based on Monthly, and 3 Months, pricing up to $129. The pricing truly is reasonable considering you never have to leave your home and local tutors can range from $75 to $150 plus a month depending on your area. It really is a great program to look into.
